Never mind that advice for “mature” wom­en about covering up a “turkey neck” or sun-damaged décolletage (neck and upper chest). For many melanated beauties, that real estate south of the chin is a lovely and low-key place to show off flawless skin. Revealing a bit of collarbone, throat or even shoulder draws the eye upward and can be a beautiful complement to natural hair, an updo or statement jewelry. Now, we’re not saying to go crazy with the cleavage or to forgo sunscreen (SPF 50+ please), but if your go-to is a shirt collar or crew neck, have a little fun with a different summer look.
